Advisory April 07, 2008:
MassHighway and the Governor's task force have yet to announce a policy allowing our American flags and welcome home banners on highway overpasses.
Please call the Governor's office and let them know you want these patriotic displays to remain on our highways to welcome home our troops.
God Bless the America flag and God protect our troops as they continue to answer the call of duty, honor and country.
Previously posted note from Jim Wareing on March 12
On March 12, I received a call from the Massachusetts State House announcing that a policy allowing American and military flags and troop banners on bridge overpasses would be announced shortly.
In response to this announcement I agreed to remove all negative comments from this web site with regards to any statements about MassHighway, Commissioner Paiewonsky and anyone else involved in this insane idea to ban these patriotic displays. Since a compromise seemed to be worked out that everyone could agree upon it made sense to come to some type of an agreement so I agreed to remove negative post. Even the minutes I had written and published on this site from my December 4 meeting with MassHighway were removed.
Since no finalized policy or announcements have been made since this March 12 phone call I have now decided to restore this web site to the way it was right after the ban had been placed that ordered the removal of the American flags from Massachusetts overpasses.
Once a policy is announced and approved by Governor Patrick this web site will be restored to giving safety tips and suggestions helping those who choose to hang an American flag or banner on our bridges to welcome home our troops and to show our patriotic pride.
